The #JulyLondonMeetUp Haul Post

I'm so excited about this haul post! Yesterday, I was one of 30 beauty, fashion and lifestyle bloggers at the #julylondonmeetup and what a lovely day it was (thanks to Helen). It was even more amazing because it finally marked the end of the the two-month spending ban I'd been on with Sasha, Poppy and Rachel, so we could all treat ourselves to some sweet beauty treats. I clearly took advantage of this momentous day and bought a lot of pretty things. I'll go from left to right, as always.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sorbet
I've been using the Candy Apple lip butter for a while now and I love that its moisturising and has great colour pay-off too. I got Sorbet as it always looks lovely when people blog about it and it's a gorgeous raspberry shade. Perfect for this time of year.

MAC Powder Blush in Full Fuschia
I've been wanting a fuschia blusher for yonks, so took the plunge and tried this one out at the MAC Pro Shop. You literally need the tiniest dot of this per cheek - it's such a pretty colour if you've got slightly darker than fair skin. I'm going to love applying this with my Real Techniques blush brush.

Mavala Nail Polishes in Bali and Milano
Mavala's range of colours is really something - I was drawn to Bali after seeing a picture of it on Twitter and Milano reminded me of the Grape Clinique nail polish I've been lusting over.

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
It's no secret that this is the best top coat around - I just hadn't got round to buying one yet. I'm really looking forward to trying this bad boy out.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water
This was a repurchase - it's currently my skin care essential and I won't be without it.

Bumble and Bumble Mending Masque
Since having a quick browse in Boots, I've been lusting over a Bumble and Bumble hair mask. Poppy and I went a bit crazy and wanted everything - but I managed to choose the best mask for what my hair needs right now. At a price of £22.50, it better be good stuff!

Topshop Nail Polishes in Aurora and Suffuse
I've got the Mermaid Topshop Nail Polish, which is like a silver version of Suffuse, and I absolutely adore it. I've had my eye on Aurora for ages and Suffuse was so stunning that I just had to have it.

Topshop Highlighter in Sunbeam
This is such a pretty highlighter! It's like Benefit's Sun Beam in powder form (which I prefer for blushers and highlighters) and it's gold and shimmery but subtle too. This will be a firm favourite for Summer.

Saturday Beauty Steal #15

This week we have another amazing product from the Space.NK sale - the Laura Mercier Limited Edition Cake Eyeliner Palette, which is now only £7 (down from £28). I think you'll agree that's a serious steal!

What is it?
The Laura Mercier Cake Eyeliner Palette comprises three blue shades of 'cake' eyeliner, which is applied by dipping a flat eyeliner brush into water and working the liner into a paste. It has been dermatologically tested to prevent any allergies and was found to be safe for use around the eyes.

What do I like about it?
The two words 'cake' and 'eyeliner' don't really come together that often, so I am intrigued by the product and its effect when mixed with water. I also love blue shades and particularly like the smoky blue on the far left - you could easily update your FOTD for the evening by adding a darker colour on top of the existing liner for more intensity.

Why is it a steal?
The price speaks for itself - it's way over 50% off. Laura Mercier is also a well-loved brand and blue is a popular colour for eyeshadow, so the fact the palette of 3 is up for grabs for under a tenner is pretty damn amazing. I'd definitely try it.

The Laura Mercier Limited Edition Cake Eyeliner Palette is available here.

Champneys Energising Lime Collection

To say that I'm excited about the Champneys Energising Lime collection would be an understatement. It's no secret that I love citrus scents, especially when they've been mixed with mint oil, so I was instantly drawn to all five products.

From left to right, we have the Body Wash (£8, 300ml), Bath & Shower Oil (£8, 250ml), Hydrating Gel (£8, 300ml), Lime Body Souffle (£10, 300ml) and Lime Foaming Body Scrub (£10, 350ml). All of the products are infused with lime extract, peppermint oil and water lily extract.

These are all out now at Boots and available from Champneys too. They are must-have products in my fruit-loving eyes!

Beauty Shots: Superdrug Christmas Collection

Writing about Christmas collections in July will always be strange to me, but it's always interesting to see what will shine on the highstreet shelves later in the year. Yesterday, I popped along to the Superdrug Christmas cosmetics and bath & body preview and wanted to share my edit of the best bits with you. As far as I know, all of the products roll out to every store in October, and selected stores in September. They will also be available at half price in October, which is always music to beauty lovers' ears!

Atelier Cologne Collection Métal: Silver Iris

It's rare for me to fall in love with a brand instantly, but I'm pretty sure I'm besotted with Atelier Cologne. Founded by two lovers devoted to scents, Atelier Cologne is hands down the most luxurious and elegant fragrance company I've ever come across. And its new Metale collection - with glass bottles coated in silver and gold - doesn't disappoint.

Pictured above is my favourite scent of the two - Silver Iris. As with every Atelier Cologne fragrance, Silver Iris has its own story, and this one is about a woman who finds love. The story in full is:

'A woman of such intimidating beauty and sparkling vitality gained the adoration of everyone around her. However, no one knew what she had been through. With her wild spirit, she was tough, stronger than metal and never looked back. When she met him, for the first time in her life, she could stand still. She may have found the absolu man '

Then we have the fragrance itself, which is infused with some seriously stunning ingredients. Every Cologne Absolue fragrance blends citrus with precious raw materials, making them long-lasting and highly concentrated. Silver Iris is concentrated at 18% and has top notes of Italian tangerine, Chinese pink pepper and blackcurrant from Burgundy; heart notes of violet leaves, iris Pallida and mimosa; and base notes of Indonesian patchouli, white amber and Brazilian tonka bean. It smells absolutely incredible and I definitely prefer it over the Gold Leather fragrance, which is quite musky and is made to smell like Cognac.

However, I can't avoid the elephant in the room when it comes to pricing - it's expensive beyond belief! But I do think it is worth the money as Atelier Cologne uses rich, high-quality ingredients to create a powerful scent, and the founders' hearts are completely in it. It's £200 for a 200ml spray bottle of Silver Iris, with a 30ml travel size and personalised scarlet leather engraved case and cap.

Beauty Looks A-Z: Riviera

When I was younger, I was lucky enough to be whisked away by my aunt and uncle to the South of France, which is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever been to. I'll never forget how luxurious everything is there and will definitely be going back again some time soon.

In memory of my trip, this week's beauty looks post is dedicated to the French Riviera. Enjoy!

Here's the products I'd throw into my beach bag:
Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner (£2.99, 200ml)

Guerlain Terracotta Terra Nerolia Tan Enhancing Bronzer (£35.20)

Samples I Picked Up From Pegasus' Beauty Showcase

For today's post, I thought I'd show you the bits and bobs I was lucky enough to pick up at this year's Pegasus PR Beauty Showcase.

I was beyond excited to finally get my hands on some coconut oil from the Holland & Barrett stand after the countless recommendations from many fab beauty bloggers about restoring moisture and shine to my hair. I was also intrigued by the hyaluronic acid supplements and lavender essential oil with the grapeseed oil base, so I grabbed those while I could.

Then we have the stunning Nefertiti Steam Cream tin, which I really love, and some healthy hair supplements called Viviscal. My hair has been breaking so much recently, so I thought I'd give the supplements a go.

I've got lots of other products to show you from the day that I received this week, so watch this space!

Have you tried any of these products? xxx

Saturday Beauty Steal #14

In this hot weather, my favourite part of the day is having a much-needed cool shower in the evening. I love using fruity shower gels that smell divine and lather up like a dream, so this week's beauty steal is dedicated to The Body Shop's Raspberry Shower Gel, which is currently £3 (250ml) in the sale.

What is it?
The Body Shop's Raspberry Shower Gel is what it says on the pink bottle - a raspberry-scented shower gel. It's a soap-free product and its ingredients include citric acid and glycerin. Other 'flavours' available for £3 include blueberry, passionfruit and papaya.

What do I like about it?
Anything that smells or tastes like raspberry will have my immediate attention. Everyone knows that Body Shop shower gels smell fantastic and (some of them) even smell like the fruit itself. It's cheap and cheerful and made by a high-quality brand. What's not to like?

Why is it a steal?
According to the comments from customers who have used this product, a little goes a long way, which means paying £3 for a 250ml bottle will be well worth it. The Body Shop is a respected brand that produces high-quality products, and the majority of shower gels brought to market are fruity and fun. All things considered, for a grand total of £3, what have you really got to lose?

You can buy The Body Shop's Raspberry Shower Gel here.

One To Watch: Dahliana

When it comes to skin care, I generally stick to what works. But, at the same time, I don't want to miss out on the next big thing, so I'm always on the hunt for new products to try.

It's rare that I get excited about a skin care brand, especially when its new to the UK, but I find Los Angeles' Dahliana to have refreshing products made with basic, fresh ingredients. I like that the brand is all about using fruit stem cell technology and organic components to reduce visible signs of skin ageing.

So, as you can imagine, when I received the Overnight Fruit Lift Cream from the lovely A Beautiful World, I just couldn't wait to get it out the box and see what the fuss was all about.

As you can see, the packaging is simple and clear, which says a lot about the brand. I love the simplicity and purity of the product and my first impression is that my skin won't be overwhelmed by it.

Then we have the cream itself. I'm not going to lie - I was taken aback when I saw what essentially looks like custard for my face - but I was more concerned with the texture of the cream, which was light and non-greasy.

The Overnight Fruit Lift Cream is meant to be a hybrid product - somewhere between a peel and a mask. It exfoliates, encourages cell turnover and boosts collagen production, which all equals brand new, refreshed skin in the morning.

The key ingredients here are fruit stem cells, pharma-grade co-enzyme Q10, natural alpha hydroxy acids and fresh, organic acerola cherry juice.

In one word - yum. What a skin care treat!

Trilogy Rosapene Night Cream

If I'm really honest, night cream has never appealed to me - it's one of those things I've bought before and have been left disappointed. In general, I find a lot of night creams to be really heavy and thick, making my freshly cleansed skin oily and sticky, so I tend to avoid them.

But sometimes there's brands out there that intrigue you and make you want to try things you haven't wanted to before, and Trilogy is one of those brands for me. I always hear amazing things about the brand's Rosehip oil, so when I was given a sample of the brand new Rosapene Night Cream earlier this month, I decided to give it a go.

When you first open the box, there's a black spatula for use with the cream and the product itself underneath. My first impression of the Rosapene Night Cream was that it smelled exactly like the Clarins Lotus Facial Treatment Oil, which is a great thing. In terms of its ingredients, the cream is infused with Trilogy's Rosapene oil blend, which is rich in antioxidants, goji and manuka honey.

The cream is white in colour and has a light-to-medium texture to it. It applies smoothly to the face and you'll need a couple of applications to see how much you need - although I overused the product for the first couple of times, I used less thereafter and got better results.

It does take a couple of minutes to soak in, so I try and apply it a few minutes before I actually go to bed so there's no risk of the product coming off on my pillow. When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks full of moisture and has a healthy glow to it, which is a good sign that the product works well with my skin.

It costs £28.50 for 60ml, which is a little expensive, but I believe in paying good money for good skin care products and think a little bit more money goes a long way. As obvious as it sounds, it is your face and the skin is your largest organ - if you invest in it, it will be worth it.

What's On My Post-Ban Wish List?

Not only did I go on a spending ban for 2 months, but also I made the really shocking decision to continue the ban with the three other lovely ladies until the #julylondonmeetup on the 27th of July.

I can't deny that I'm proud of what we've done - but I'm definitely ready to splash my cash on the finest beauty currently has to offer.

So this post is all about what's on my post-ban wish list - I'm SO looking forward to getting my hands on these bad boys.

1. Revlon Suede Lipstick in Finale
Absolutely gorgeous raspberry pink lipstick. I keep seeing this all over the blogs and I'm desperate to pucker up and try this out. I'll definitely be buying one or two of these lipsticks.

2. Bodhi Rosemary Chi Himalayan Detox Salt Scrub
I just love the sound of every Bodhi product and the perfect one to start with would be this salt scrub, as these are generally my favourite bath/body product.

3. Dr Hauschka Rose Body Moisturiser
I've been using the Dr Hauschka Lemon/Lemongrass Body Moisturiser since I bought it from Feel Unique a while ago and I love the formula. I'm keen to try some other scents and see what I like the best, so I'd like to start with rose.

4. Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Mask
I love anything with hyaluronic acid in it and Rodial's Dragon's Blood range has intrigued me for some time now. I've heard some great things about it, so I'll be giving this a go as soon as I can.

5. Ben Nye Banana Powder
I have been craving this product so much after several twitter conversations. Everyone was buying one at IMATS and it just looks like such a lux product. I want!

6. Lush Emotional Brilliance Lipstick in Confident
I'm a big fan of the Lush Emotional Brilliance range - the pigmentation is amazing and the colours are so pretty. I'd love to give this one a go.

7. Sai Sei Mineral Seaweed Bath Crystals
I had a sniff of this when I popped by Space.NK the other day and fell in love. Sea + bath + seaweed = pampering perfection.

8. Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil
It's about time I tried a product from Bumble and Bumble - it's just a case of what one to pick up. I love the look of this oil and it also comes in such a cute orange bottle.

What's on your wish list at the moment? xxx

Guest Post: Prep & Prime For Flawless Foundation

Be sure to remove all your makeup and use a night cream. If you have dry skin, add in a night serum or oil to hydrate your skin overnight - this will be a total lifesaver.

If you have oily or acne-prone skin, put a clay mask on oily spots and keep it on overnight to clear pores and create a smoother base in the morning. But don’t skip out on night skincare if you have oily skin because you think it will increase the oil - your skin needs a break to recharge overnight with some moisturiser.

Although it’s always a good idea to exfoliate, don’t do it more than once per week. Exfoliation is great for removing dead skin cells from your face that foundation may cling to on application, but don’t overdo it or you may enhance the appearance of dry or oily spots.

Before applying foundation
Cleanse and use a toner - rose water toner is my favorite! Toner is an important step because it restores the balance to your skin.

Next, you should use a primer. Primers are essential because they completely smooth out your skin and give your foundation a clean base to adhere to. They also help foundation to last longer. To create a smoother look, find a primer that has silicone in its ingredients list.

After applying foundation
When you’re done applying your foundation, it's sometimes nice to spritz more toner on your face because it sets your foundation and gives it a more skin-like, flawless appearance.

Everyone luxury beauty lover out there is well aware that Space.NK has an epic sale on at the moment. So, for this week's Saturday Beauty Steal, I searched the virtual shelves for some of the best bargains available.

I was thrilled when I came across this 3-piece Aromatherapy Associates Life Essentials Set for just £12.50 (50% off). What a bargain for a high-quality brand like AA!

What is it?
The Aromatherapy Associates Life Essentials set includes 3 7.5ml bath and shower oils - Relax (for a good night's sleep, with vetivert, chamomile and sandalwood), De-Stress (to calm and clarify your thoughts, with lavender, ginger, rosemary and black pepper) and Revive (to invigorate and energise, with pink grapefruit, rosemary and juniper berry).

What do I like about it?
Any beauty product that is associated with relaxation or sleep is a dream to me, so using the Relax and De-Stress oils in the bath and shower would be heaven. Those of you who read my blog will also know that I love invigorating citrus scents (especially pink grapefruit), which makes me love the idea of the Revive oil too. The great thing about this set is the V factor - variety. It caters to several different moods and enables you to switch it up when you feel like something new. The set also acts as a tester, so you can try before you buy a full-size bottle of your favourite scent.

Why is it a steal?

A/W 2013 Beauty Buys: Steam Cream & Collection

Steam Cream 2013 Halloween Edition
Steam Cream 2013 London Fashion Week Edition
Steam Cream Christmas Editions

Last night, I went along to the amazing Pegasus PR beauty showcase and spotted some gorgeous launches for A/W 2013. Pictured above are three of the Steam Cream limited edition sets (Halloween, London Fashion Week and Christmas). I love the design of the Halloween one, the LFW is a couture classic and the Christmas pots are pretty pretty pretty.

But the star of the show in terms of launches for A/W was Collection - I couldn't believe how stunning the Gothic Glam lipsticks were (out in October). Below is my favourite one of the three - Revenge. The colour is so intense and it only costs £2.99 - a serious steal! The deep purple one is also a fantastic dupe for Tom Ford's Black Orchid.

Then we have this lovely, vibrant mascara due for launch at the end of August. The brush is one of those with tiny bristles to make sure that every lash is covered. It will be available in black and ultra black, and costs around £3–£4.
